Rendered facades with thermal insulation

The rendered facade with an external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS) is the most common solution in Luxembourg for residential buildings. It combines a continuous insulation layer with a mineral or synthetic-resin render and generally delivers the best ratio of insulation performance, appearance and investment.

We work with certified systems, document the build-ups without gaps and make sure that connections to windows, plinth and roof are executed in a way that prevents thermal bridges. That is the most common weakness of poorly executed ETICS and the cause of later building damage.

Ventilated curtain walls (rainscreen cladding)

The ventilated curtain wall separates the weather skin from the build-up behind it. Between the insulation layer and the visible cladding runs a ventilated cavity, which reliably channels moisture away. That makes the rainscreen system particularly robust and low-maintenance. As cladding we use fibre-cement panels, timber facades, metal panels or brick slips.

Typically we choose the rainscreen approach where higher demands on durability and fire protection apply, for example with multi-unit residences or commercial properties.

Natural-stone and reconstituted-stone facades

Natural stone gives a facade a quality that does not wear off even after decades. We install travertine, limestone, granite and slate from European quarries, each tuned to the architecture. Reconstituted-stone panels are the more accessible alternative on price, with a similar visual appeal.

Glass facades in commercial construction

For commercial properties, office buildings and halls, large-format glass facades are often the means of choice. They bring daylight into the building and represent the company outwardly. We design the constructions with mullion-transom systems or structural glazing and coordinate shading, thermal protection and ventilation early on.
