Earthworks and drainage

For a new build, the earthworks are the basis for everything that arises above. We excavate building pits, install strip foundations, form floor slabs and ensure that rainwater is channelled away from the building in a controlled way. Drainage runs, soakaways and connections to the municipal sewer are part of the standard scope.

For existing buildings, a follow-up review of the drainage often pays off. When cellars become damp or paved areas subside, the cause typically lies in the substrate rather than in the visible surface.

Paving and terrace construction

A well-made paved area lasts for decades. The decisive factor is not the stone but the substructure. We strip the soil down to the load-bearing ground, layer in frost protection and a base course, compact in stages and only then set the visible surface. That keeps the area level and stops it developing dips or hazardous trip points.

For terraces we combine natural stone, concrete slabs or timber decking with concealed drainage build-ups, so that water is reliably channelled away without frost damage occurring.

Walkways, retaining walls and edgings

Sloping ground is more often than not the rule in Luxembourg rather than the exception. We build retaining walls in concrete or natural stone, design step arrangements and align routings so that residents and visitors find their way intuitively. In most cases, height differences can be elegantly absorbed with one or two flights of steps, without the plot feeling fragmented.

Green areas and lighting

A finished outdoor area lives from the planting. We work together with regional nurseries and plan plantings that do not perish at the first dry spell. The lighting is planned in parallel, so that no cables have to be laid retrospectively and the lighting concept fits the architecture from the outset.
